Blog Post #2: Research Topic and Sources
I've decided to use the DSU website usability topic I mentioned in the first blog post for my research topic. I'm planning to use other universities' website usability studies and articles on methods for conducting usability studies as sources. With that in mind, my 10 tentative sources are as follows:

I think it's really cool that your research topic is related to something that could (possibly, if needed) improve things for our school--or at least see how we are doing compared to other universities haha. Usability is such an interesting topic and I think you could do so much with this! I'm excited to read your final research plan!
ReplyDeleteRevision Plan:
ReplyDelete*Check databases besides the old reliable Academic Search Premiere.
*Double check to make sure these sources are all relevant beyond just their names and abstracts.
Hi Autumn,
ReplyDeleteGreat progress and preliminary thoughts about your topic, so far! I really like the usability idea of exploring our school site (with your initial sources) as presented in this second blog. Based on your revision plans upon reflecting on your Tentative 10, I suspect you'll be distilling more of this topic as you plow through and annotate sources this weekend, so just keep an open mind.
When you're ready to write an outline of your Lit. Review final draft next week OR, most especially, when you start planning/drafting your Research Proposal later on (writing assign #2), let me know if you need help narrowing things down further amidst the diverse sources you've found.
Keep up the good work!
Dr. B
